In
order to receive graduate credit at the University of
Indianapolis, students must be admitted to the graduate
programs of the College of Arts and Sciences. Students
seeking regular admission to the M.A. English program must
apply prior to registration.
General requirements for admission
into the program are:

Completion of the application form and payment of the
designated application fee
(this is a nonrefundable processing fee).

Submission of a transcript showing a baccalaureate
degree. Students seeking admission as Degree applicants
must have at least 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale in
undergraduate work. All official transcripts must be
sent directly from the issuing institution to the
University of Indianapolis, Athens Campus.

Good command of the English language as evidenced by a
minimum TOEFL score of 213 (550) or the Cambridge or
Michigan Proficiency. Students with an undergraduate
degree from an English institution are exempt from this
requirement.

Three letters of recommendation from people in a
position to evaluate a student's academic performance
and potential.

Personal interview with the Chair of the Department.

Enrollment in the program does not require an
undergraduate degree in English.
